Het idee voor dit prototype ontstond vanuit een reclamecampagne over
herbruikbare draagtassen die je kunt gebruiken in plaats van wegwerp plasticzakken.
De ZAK-A-SOL toont aan dat plastic zakken wel meer kunnen dan alleen
maar ‘plastic zak zijn’ en zorgen meteen voor hergebruik van plastic
zakken.
Plastic is een zeer licht, soepel, afwasbaar en lichtdoorlatend
materiaal, waaruit het idee ontstond om er een parasol van te maken.
Inspiratie voor de vorm komt uit de natuur, waardoor het lijkt alsof je
onder een palmboom ligt te zonnen.
Het plastic wordt geweven. Baleinen van een oude versleten paraplu's
wordt hergebruikt voor de bladen. De staander is het onderstel van een
oude bureaustoel die je in het gras kan prikken zodat deze niet bij de
minste wind omver valt. De poot ten slotte bestaat uit twee kapstokken
die tegen elkaar zijn gelast.
Een brandend actueel thema voor onder een al even brandende zon.
